Meet Oklahoma-based neo-Nazis and Unite the Right torch bearers Joshua Harley James aka “Hedd McNekk” of the Tulsa area, and his now former wife Justine Danielle Crowe James aka “Shield Maiden.” Joshua, a truck driver and former US Marine, and his ex Justine both have histories of spewing hatred online under their own faces.
Prominently seen among the Charlottesville crowd in images published by outlets such as the Washington Post, the New York Times, Vice News, and even featured in an art piece for MAD Magazine, it was surprising to us that the identity of “Hedd McNekk” did not return any search results for Joshua James of Oklahoma.

“Hedd McNekk” has, however, maintained an active presence in the online nazi scene from pre-Charlottesville through the present, and has been proud of his white supremacist activism for years.

In December of 2017, a piece on a “Marcher’s Perspective” of Charlottesville featuring Hedd McNekk appeared on the website of antisemitic conspiracy theorist Henry Makow. Here, he detailed his experience at Unite the Right, where he clarifies that he was not a “commie infiltrator” and announces his and his wife’s online usernames.

With this early hint, we located archives of his wife’s @title_nein Twitter account with the screen name of “Shield Maiden”, and the profile photo matched the woman at UTR. As a self-proclaimed “Housewife of Hate”, her profile was full of Nazi garbage.
While Justine seems to have deleted her account from Twitter, ex-husband Joshua H. James has continued to post hatred for years. So, after all these years, how did we finally connect them to their accounts?
THE TRACE
“Hedd McNekk” claimed to have been doxed previously, but we could not locate the evidence of his identification. Great news for us, though, is that Joshua Harley James loves to talk about himself. Joshua still posts under his own face across multiple platforms, tells us about where he lives, tells us that he is a truck driver, and gave us the names of the women he had been in relationships with, all of which he claimed to “turn Nazi” or was in the process of red-pilling.
Hedd McNekk mentioned publicly that his current girlfriend was a special needs teacher near Tulsa, Oklahoma. A quick Google search of the name he provided located her LinkedIn account, and she made an easy job of linking to his Facebook account for us.

On Joshua James’s Facebook account, he still has a gallery of images that include his torch-marching ex, as well as photos of their plane tickets verifying their names, “Joshua Harley James” and “Justine Danielle James”.
